Denise Greene, M.D.
Dr. Greene joined Hegg Medical Clinic Avera in September of 1996. She and her husband, Nick, have five children: Ryan, Lacey, Chris, Kate and Samie. They also have four grandchildren: Ashley, Brayden, Taya and Ryla. Dr. Greene and her family enjoy boating, camping and watching NFL football, especially the Vikings.
Dr. Greene graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Family Practice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Dr. Greene provides a full range of family practice services, including geriatrics, OB, pediatrics, orthopedics and General Medicine.
Kevin Post, D.O.
Dr. Post provides a full range of family practice services. He enjoys treating patients of all ages, and has special interests in obstetrics, pediatrics and diabetes. He is a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) which allows him to perform spinal manipulation as well.
Dr. Post attended medical school at Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa; and then completed his residency training in family practice in Sioux City, Iowa. Dr. Post is passionate about community education, focusing on prevention.
Dr. Post lives in Rock Valley with his wife Sandra, and their 5 children (Nate, Hunter, Nicolas, Alec and Kadri). His hobbies include reading, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
Brad Kamstra, D.O.
Dr. Kamstra enjoys treating each individual person along with getting to know the entire family. He is involved in the full spectrum of Family Medicine, from delivering babies to helping families deal with end of life issues. Spinal Manipulation and sports medicine are also a part of his practice.
Dr. Kamstra is involved in teaching students and has a passion for informing the public on medical issues. Practicing medicine with a Christian perspective is very important to him. The Kamstra family loves the Rock Valley community and all the opportunities it offers each of them.
Jonathan Engbers, MD
Dr. Engbers chose Hegg Memorial Health Center Avera as his home of practice because he believes the atmosphere will let him bring forth his best to families seeking medical care.
Dr. Engbers attended medical school at the University of Iowa and completed his residency at Sioux Falls Family Medicine.
Jonathan resides with his wife and two daughters in Rock Valley, IA. He enjoys spending time with family, bible study and church activities, reading historical non-fiction and playing piano and basketball.
Greg Van Peursem, PA-C
Greg grew up in Orange City, Iowa, and graduated with a degree in Biology/Health Sciences from Northwestern College in Orange City. He attended Des Moines University Medical School Physician Assistant program and graduated in 1995. Prior to moving to Rock Valley, Greg worked in Omaha at a Hispanic Outreach Clinic for three years and at a Family Practice Clinic for four years.
Greg enjoys teaching patients about their illness by using explanations, pictures and/or drawings that people can understand.
Greg is married to Donna Pennings, formerly of Sheldon, Iowa. She works in Rock Valley and Sheldon at Creative Living as a mental health therapist. They have three children: Emily, Connor and Parker. He enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, motorcycling and singing.
Paula Sanderson, CNP
Paula joined Hegg Medical Clinic Avera in 2011. She graduated with a BSN from Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD. In 2005 Paula graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota with a Masters of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner.
Paula and her husband live in Canton, South Dakota. In her free time she enjoys golfing, singing and walking. Spending time with her friends and family is very important.
