The 23rd Annual Trauma Symposium has been designed to highlight current evidence-based concepts and technology for the evaluation, diagnosis and acute care management of the trauma patient throughout the continuum of care.

Target Audience

Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, hospital managers, pharmacists, respiratory techs, therapists, paramedics and other interested health care professionals that provide care to trauma patients.

Continuing Education


Avera is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Application  will be been made for continuing medical education.


Avera Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Alabama State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Application will be made for continuing nursing education.

Respiratory Therapy:

Application will be made to American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for continuing education contact hours for respiratory therapists.


Application will be made to the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy for Pharmacist Continuing Education credits.


Application has also been made for credit for EMS.
