Our Team

Mary Wolf, MS, LPC-MH, QMHP, CEAP
LIGHT and EAP Services Director
Mary holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development from South Dakota State University. She has worked with Behavioral Health Outpatient Services and EAP since 1996. Mary's areas of focus and expertise are with EA programs, workplace issues, executive/life coaching, and critical incident stress management services.

Nancy Wise-Vander Lee, PhD, LP
Dr. Wise-Vander Lee earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology-Fresno.  She has practiced as a psychologist for over 15 years in the Sioux Falls community.  She also has experience teaching in the areas of Abnormal Psychology and Counseling.  She provides individual psychotherapy to adults and adolescents.  Her areas of specialty are treatment for depression, anxiety and PTSD, mood disorders, personality disorders, sleep disorders and stress management.  Nancy is the Employee Assistance Program Manager and providers crisis intervention, critical incident services, consultations, and training programs.   

Erik Anderson, MSW, LCSW
Erik graduated from New York University with a Master of Social Work degree.  Erik provides EAP and outpatient mental health services.  Erik has experience working with adolescents and trauma.  His areas of interest include working with adults as well as adolescents for issues of trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress management. 

Joseph Block, LAC
Joseph graduated from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology.  Joseph is providing outpatient substance abuse counseling to individuals, families, and groups.  Joseph has a background in agriculture and community corrections.  His areas of special interest include spirituality and emotional abuse issues.

Amy Chitwood, MSW, CSW-PIP
Amy graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Master of Social Work degree. She provides EAP and outpatient mental health services to adults, children, adolescents, and families. Her areas of interest and expertise are in anxiety, mood disturbances, depression, stress management and trauma.

James W. Green, LAC
Jim's graduate studies were at South Dakota State University and he has extensive experience working in the addiction field. Jim is currently an addiction specialist and EAP provider with the Avera team. His areas of expertise are in alcohol and drug issues (adolescent and adult) and Jim also serves as a trainer for workplace drug and alcohol issues.

Malia Holbeck, MSW, LCSW, LAC
Malia received her Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University.  Malia is providing EAP and outpatient services (mental health and addiction recovery) with the Avera team.  Her areas of interest and expertise include working with adolescents and adults for substance abuse and addiction issues, anxiety, depression and stress management.

Rhonda Kemmis, MA, EAP Trainer
Rhonda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Bemidji State University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Augustana College, and a Master of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Augustana College.  She has spent a number of years as an educator in the Sioux Falls School District, and as a Consultant and Trainer with the State Department of Education in Pierre, SD.  Rhonda has expertise in the development and presentation of training programs, and is eager to research and deliver on topics of current trends in the workplace.

Alysa Klein, MA, CAC
Alysa received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Southern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Sport Psychology at Minnesota State University-Mankato.  She provides EAP and outpatient services (mental health and addiction recovery) in individual and group settings with the Avera team.  Her areas of interest and expertise include working with adults and adolescents with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse/addiction issues, stress management, victims of abuse, anxiety and depression.

Jeri L. Nelson, MSW, CSW-PIP
Jeri received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kansas. Jeri is providing outpatient mental health and EAP services for adults, children, and adolescents in our Brookings office. Areas of interest include families with addictions, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and relationship issues.

Lindsay Neth, MSW, LCSW
Lindsay graduated from the University of Iowa with a Master of Social Work degree.  Lindsay provides EAP and outpatient services.  She has experience in grief, bereavement and crisis intervention.  Additional areas of interest include working with adults as well as adolescents for issues with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and stress management.

Christopher Pudwill, MSW, LCSW
Chris graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Master of Social Work degree and is a member of the Phi Alpha Honors Society for social work.  He provides EAP and outpatient services for couples, families, and groups as well as individual services to children and adults.  His areas of interest and expertise are in mental and behavioral health, crisis counseling, marriage and couples, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Leah Rath, MA, LPC-MH, LAC
Leah received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of South Dakota. Leah is providing EAP and outpatient (mental health and addiction recovery) services with the Avera team. Her areas of focus and expertise are working with addiction, depression, anxiety and stress management, and providing therapy with adolescents and adults.

Melissa Roby, MS, LPC, NCC, LAC
Melissa received her Master of Science degree in Agency Counseling from South Dakota State University. She is providing EAP and outpatient (mental health and addiction recovery) services with the Avera Team. Her areas of focus and expertise are working with adolescents and adults for co-occurring issues of addiction, depression, anxiety and stress management, and is trained in Moral Reconation Therapy.

Kelsey Sjaarda, MSW, LCSW
Kelsey graduated from Minnesota State University with a Master of Social Work degree. Kelsey provides EAP and outpatient mental health services. She has worked with Avera Behavioral Health leading Dialectical Behavior Therapy group sessions in the Partial Hospitalization Program. Her areas of interest include teaching DBT skills, stress management, aging, depression and anxiety in adults, and case management regarding chronic mental health concerns.

Lana J. Smith, MA, LMFT, QMHP, LAC
Lana received her Master of Arts degree from the North American Baptist Seminary through the Marriage and Family Therapy program. She worked in the Behavioral Chronic Pain Program at Avera McKennan for over ten years. Lana currently provides EAP and outpatient (mental health and addiction recovery) services. Her clinical expertise is marriage and family therapy, individual therapy, stress management and biofeedback, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment issues, sexual abuse and depression.

Mary Ellen Smith, MS, LPC-MH, NCC
Mary Ellen received her Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development from South Dakota State University. Mary Ellen has been a therapist and EAP provider and her areas of focus and expertise are working with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, body image, marital issues, communication and conflict resolution.

Denise Truckenmiller, MBA, EAP Trainer/Consultant
Denise earned a Master's in Business Administration with emphasis in Human Resources from Colorado Technical University.  She is currently working toward her Ed.D. in Leadership from Creighton University.  Denise has experience working with culture change, change management, conflict, and personnel development at all levels.  She is a certified trainer in Crucial Conversations, Crucial Accountability, and DiSC.

Jill Viedt, MS, LPC, NCC, LAC
Jill received her Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development from South Dakota State University. Jill is providing EAP and outpatient (mental health and addiction recovery) services with the Avera Team. Her areas of interest and expertise include working with adolescents and adults for substance abuse and addiction issues, anxiety, depression, and stress management.
