Avera St. Luke's Acceleration

Powered by Athletic Republic

Avera St. Luke's Acceleration uses the Athletic Republic program (formerly Frappier Acceleration Sports Training), started in Fargo, N.D., by exercise physiologist John Frappier in 1990. Many years of research were involved in developing this program. It has spread to more than 160 sites nationwide and internationally. Athletes of varying ages and abilities use these techniques to propel to the next level, and we can help you do that, too!

Sportsmetrics™ at Avera St. Luke's

Theresa Backous, Avera St. Luke’s Sports Medicine and Acceleration Manager, and Joe Dudley, Acceleration supervisor, are certified in Sportsmetrics™, a program that assists in reducing risks of serious knee injury and enhances athletic performance.

Backous and Dudley can use Sportsmetrics as part of an injury reduction program, a rehabilitation program and for techniques to enhance performance. Avera St. Luke's offers this nationally recognized program to athletes in the Aberdeen region. For more information or to sign up, call 605-626-7967. Learn more about Sportsmetrics™.

Junior Acceleration

Geared toward the young athlete, ages 9 to 12, to help develop fundamental sport movement in a positive environment. In six sessions young athletes learn the proper mechanics, which is sure to improve speed, strength and self-confidence, no matter what sport they play. Our goal is to help every participant get better, no matter what level they're at when they begin.
